Cricut Circle Blog ~ Weekly Challenge

Happy Monday everyone!  Today, I have my entry for the Cricut Circle Blog ~ Weekly Challenge #43 : Feeling Gifty ChallengeThe guidelines for this challenge:  We all love to receive a little surprise...just because.  This challenge is all about paying it forward and brightening someone's day!  Create something to give away using your Cricut machine.  It can be for a holiday, a season, an occasion, or just because.  Be sure to include at least 2 Cricut image cuts in your project.

A couple of weeks ago, I learned that a fellow Cricut Circlet whom I recently met was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery.  I was originally just going to make a cheerful card to send her way, but then I saw the description for this challenge and thought of the most perfect thing to make for her to really put a smile on her face.  I hope she enjoys it.

Isn't it great?!?  I have to say that I just love it!!  It looks soooo much better in person!!  The solid color cardstock is from Recollections.   The patterned paper is from the Echo Park Paper Co. ~ Be Mine collection.  To cut the flowers, I used the Flower Shoppe ~ Cricut cartridge (flowers #3 & #5) and the Mother's Day Bouquet ~ Cricut cartridge (flowers #3, #5, #6, & #7).  If you like to make flowers...these carts are a must have!

The two large flowers in the back are paper rosettes.  I forget where I found the video to learn how to make those.  But, in the recent Provo Craft ~ Hello Thursday, they announced a new cartridge called Ribbons & Rosettes.  That is going to be soooo AWESOME!!!  For the centers of the two rosettes, I used the My Creative Time ~ Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies.  All of the stamped ribbons, as well as the sentiment, are from the My Creative Time ~ Race for a Cure stamp set.  For the ink, I used Memento ~ Rose Bud.  You can't see it in this picture, but I also have a large ribbon, like the one on the front, for each of the other sides - with the sentiments: Hope, Faith and Believe - they too are from the My Creative Time ~ Race for a Cure stamp set.

Here is a close up shot of the flowers:

For some of the flower centers, I used glittery brads from Making Memories.  The smaller circles in the center are cut with a die from the My Creative Time ~ Build a Banner Kit.   For the stems on the flowers, I used Wilton ~ Lollipop Sticks.

Here is a view from the top:

For the base, I used a square little plastic container I picked up at Michaels.  I lined the sides with some of the pretty Echo Park patterned paper that I used for the flowers.  Inside the little container is one of those green floral foam squares.  In order to hide it, I poured in some 3D Crystal Laquer by Sakura and threw in a mixture of 100 little pink buttons.  (and 100 little buttons isn't as many as you think it would be LOL).  The pretty soft pink polka dot bow was made from ribbon in my stash.

This is one of those projects that turned out so great...you know you're gonna have to make another one so you can keep it yourself...LOL.  I sooo love how this turned out and I hope it makes my friend smile each and every time she looks at it :)

Well, that's my project for today.  I have another super fun project for tomorrow.  So I will see you back here soon.  Have a great day everyone!
