My Creative Time ~ "Inspire Me Tuesday"

Hello everyone!  It's time for another "Inspire Me Tuesday" with My Creative Time.  For those of you who may be new to this feature - it's when we make a project from some kind of inspiration.  It could be a color combo, a tv show, a view from your window, something in a magazine, anything at all.

Here is my card:

The black card base is made from Bazzill cardstock.  The kraft cardstock is from Paper Trey Ink.  The polka dot patterned paper is from the Echo Park ~ Bundle of Joy collection.  I cut the scallop square with a Sizzix ~ Framelit.

The "Get Well Soon" sentiment is from the MCT ~ Vintage Sentiments.  The cute little cup is cut with a die in the MCT ~ Coffee Break stamp/die set.  The silly little face is from the PKS ~ Retro Paper Doll Face Assortment.  I colored in the eyes with a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll Pen and added some chalk for cheeks.  I put the cup on pop dots for dimension.  The pretty bow is made with May Arts ~ Chevron Ribbon.  And the little gem at the top is from my stash.

Ok . . . can you guess what my inspiration was???

It's "bendy straws"!!!!  Ok, so here's the story.  You know how when you get sick when you're little?  And your mom or dad makes you toast or chicken noodle soup and gives you some 7-UP to go with it?  Well, in my family, my mom always added a "bendy straw".  And my sister and I always thought that was the magic ingredient that made you all better.  Hee Hee!  Silly, I know.  But to this day, my mom still sends me bendy straws in the mail to have on hand in case I get sick.  This last little box I got just a couple of weeks ago.    ;)

Well, that's it for me today.  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  Have a great day everyone!  I will see you all again soon.

Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge #13-30 : Photo Inspiration

Hello everyone!  It's time for the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #13-30 : Photo Inspiration!  The guidelines for this challenge:  Create a project using the photo as inspiration.  Interpret the photo ANY way you'd like, just be sure to let us in on your creative process.  The colors next to the photo are only suggested.

Here is the photo:

For my project, I used the colors as my inspiration:

Don't you love it when you make something and think "this might just be one of my favorites ever"?  Hee Hee!  I love it how it turned out.  The card base is made with kraft cardstock from Paper Trey Ink.  And all of the patterned cardstock is from the Die Cuts With A View ~ Baby Boy Stack, except for the blue polka dot paper which is from Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints.  I cut the scallop shape out of the middle of the front of the card to make a little window with a Spellbinders ~ Nestabilities Die.

I cut the pretty trees with my Cameo and a file from the Silhouette Online Store.  I paper pieced them to give them a little dimension and adhered them with pop dots for even more dimension.

The really pretty snowflakes are the punched out parts from using a Martha Stewart ~ Border Punch.  At the bottom of the card, I made the snow using the MCT ~ Stitched Cartoon Cloud Dies.

This first little cutie is from the PKS ~ Skatin' By stamp set.  I paper pieced him and used Copic ~ Sketch Markers as well.  I used Marvy Uchida ~ Liquid Applique for the puffy cotton parts.  And I used a Clear Star ~ Gelly Roll Pen to make the blades on the skates a little sparkly.

This other little cutie is also from the PKS ~ Skatin' By stamp set.  I paper pieced him and used Copic ~ Sketch Markers and the Clear Star ~ Gelly Rolly Pen as well.

The "Tis the Season..." sentiment is from the PKS ~ Christmas Greeting Words stamp set.

Here is the inside of the card.  I added another tree and also used Waterfall ~ Stickles to make the ice.

Definitely one of my favorites!!!  :)  Make sure you head on over to the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  And I hope you have time to enter the challenge...I can't wait to see what you all make!!!  Have a great day everyone!  See you all again soon!

My Creative Time ~ "Designer Challenge" : Amy

Hello everyone!  It's time for another "Designer Challenge" with My Creative Time.  And this time the host is the super talented Miss Amy.  The guidelines for this challenge:  Make a project of your choice with a SUMMER THEME.  This can be anything you associate with summer: bbq, beach, vacation, a color palette, picnic, anything summery.

Living in Phoenix, Arizona - most of us live in our flips flops, especially during the summer.  So here is my fun summer card:

This is a 5.5 x 5.5 card.  The kraft cardstock is from Paper Trey Ink.  All of the other fun colorful papers are from the Authentique ~ Summer collection except for the flowers - that paper was from my scraps.

These fun flip flops are cut with my Cameo and a file from the Silhouette Store.  For a pretty little accessory, I added a little flower cut with the MCT ~ Flower Petal Dies.  In the center, I added a little Recollections ~ Pearl.  The super cool little sun is from the MCT ~ All Around Everything Accessories.  I colored them in with Copic ~ Sketch Markers and added some Yellow & Orange ~ Stickles.

The perfect sentiment is from the MCT ~ Have Fun In The Sun.  I cut the label with the MCT ~ Curly Label Die and the MCT ~ Stitched Curly Label Die.  I put everything on pop dots for dimension.

Well that's it for me today.  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  And I hope you have time to enter the challenge!  You will have 2 weeks to link up your entries over there for a chance to win a fun prize.  I can't wait to see what you all make!!!  Have a great day everyone.  I will see you all again tomorrow.
