My Creative Time ~ "Thoughtful Thursday"

Hello everyone!  We are starting a couple of new features over at My Creative Time.  On the Thursday between "Designer Challenges" we will be doing either "Thrifty Thursday" or "Thoughtful Thursday".  And today, it's time for "Thoughtful Thursday".  This is when we will make something for someone else.  It could be Get Well, Congratulations, Encouragement, Cheer Up, etc.  Isn't that such a neat idea?

I made this "Thinking of You" card.  You can never have enough of those on hand.  The white cardstock and green cardstock are from Recollections.  The yellow striped paper in the background is Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints.

I modeled this flower off the shape of a topiary tree I saw in a magazine.  I used the MCT ~ Flower Petal Dies to make all of these super pretty flowers.  All of the patterned papers for the flowers are from the Echo Park ~ Hello Summer collection.  I curled up the petals to add dimension and added little pearls to the centers for some bling.

To create the stem, I used the "Thinking of You" sentiment from the MCT ~ Just A Little Note stamp set.  Since it's a straight stamp, I just angled it on the block to create the fun curve.  The ink is Cottage Ivy ~ Memento Ink.  For the leaves, I used one of the mustache shapes in the MCT ~ What's Growing On? stamp/die set and just cut it in half.  The paper for the leaves is Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints.  And I put the leaves on pop dots for dimension.  At the very bottom of the card, I used the "Love you..." stamp from the MCT ~ This and That stamp set to look like a little bit of grass.

I also put the whole top layer, starting with the green, on pop dots for extra dimension.  That's it.  So pretty and ready for Spring.  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  I will see you all again soon.  Have a great day my creative friends!

Welcome Sweet Baby ~ Diaper Cake

Hello everyone!  Today is my day over at the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog and  I have a super fun project to share with you . . . it's a Diaper Cake!

This is only the second time I have ever made one, but I just love how it turned out!  And I have to say . . . it was a big success!   ;)

The guest of honor is this cutie patootie little baby girl.  She is cut with the Baby Steps ~ Cricut Cartridge.  All of the papers are from Recollections. Her super sweet little face is from the PKS ~ Just Baby Faces Assortment.  I colored in her eyes and pacifier with Copic ~ Sketch Markers and a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen.  And I added some little rosy cheeks with chalk.  For her little hat, I added some fun pink ~ rick rack and a little flower from my stash.

I added some little travel size baby products around the bottom and top layers.  For the middle layer, I used the MCT ~ Flower Petal Dies to make some super pretty flowers.  In the center of each one is a pretty little gem.  And if you look closely at the middle layer, you can see a couple of gift cards.  Woot! Woot!

Well my creative friends, that's it for me today.  I hope this inspires you to get creative for your next baby shower.  Have a great day!  I will see you all again tomorrow.  :)

My Creative Time ~ "Designer's Challenge" : Nancy

Hello everyone!  It's time for another "Designer's Challenge" with My Creative Time.

The featured Designer for this challenge is the talented Miss Nancy.  The guidelines for this challenge: Make a project of your choice and include a "memento" - that could be anything - a ticket stub, a brochure or any other item that means something special to you.

This challenge was a little harder than I thought it was going to be.  It seems the older I get, the less mementos I keep...maybe it's a de-clutter thing...lol.  So the memento I chose was this little flower holder from my wedding.  It's called the "Be Mine bud vase" and it was the centerpiece at our Bride & Groom table (with real flowers in it of course).  And it's always been special to me because "Be Mine" is a sweet little phrase that my husband always says to me.  Awwwww!  I know...corny, but I love it!!!

I've always wanted to make some flowers to put in it and this was the perfect time.  I used the MCT ~ Rolled Flower Dies to make the beautiful little roses.  The patterned paper is from the Echo Park ~ Love Story collection.  I curled the petals a bit and added a Queen & Co. ~ Twinkle Goosebump to the center.  To make the little tag, I used the MCT ~ Teeny Tag Greetings stamp/die set.  The ink is red ~ Technique Tuesday ink.  And I added a simple little bow with some white floss and a little red heart gem from my stash.

That's it.  Super simple, but very special.  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  And look around your house to pull out your favorite mementos.  I can't wait to see what you all make.  You will have two weeks to join in on the challenge and link up your project.  Have a great day my creative friends!

Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge #13-7 Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone!  It's time for the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge #13-7 : Sketch Challenge.  The guidelines for this challenge:  Create a card or layout of your choice using the sketch provided.  Design must be new.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

I kinda rotated mine a bit, but I think you can still see all the elements.  The black and the white cardstock are from Recollections.  The green cardstock is from the Coredinations ~ Vintage Collection.  The shamrock paper is made using the PKS ~ Lucky Day Shamrock background stamp and Cottage Ivy ~ Memento ink.

The scalloped shape is cut with a Spellbinders ~ Nestabilities Die.  The green and yellow gems are from my stash.  This super cute little leprechaun is from the PKS ~ Kiss Me Leprechaun stamp set.  I colored him in with Copic ~ Sketch Markers.  And I popped up the scallop shape with pop dots for dimension.   Behind the whole piece is a simple yellow ribbon from my stash.

The "Happy St. Patrick's Day!" sentiment is from the PKS ~ Kiss Me Leprechaun stamp set.  The "Good Luck to you!" sentiment and the little shamrock are from the PKS ~ February 2012 : Kit of the Month.  The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.

That's it for me today!  I hope he makes you smile and maybe brings you some Good Luck today!  Make sure you head on over to the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  And I hope you join in on the challenge this week!!!  I can't wait to see what you all make!  Have a great day my creative friends.  :)

For my project today, I am showcasing the super terrific MCT ~ Treat Slider Box.  And let me tell you, if you like making little treats - you are going to love this die!!!

I'm getting ready to go to a baby shower next week and was inspired to make these perfect little treats!!!  I just love how they turned out.  And they were super easy to make!!!  I'm tellin' ya...MUST HAVE!!!  ;)

The Treat Box Slider is made up of 3 parts: the box part that holds the chocolate candies, the sleeve part that you will slide the box into, and the little wrappers that you can wrap around the candies themselves.  **In this picture you see the pretty scalloped wrapper on the candies, but there is also another wrapper option that you can use for more masculine projects. Seriously...it doesn't get any easier!!!  You can mass produce these babies in no time!  Ha!  Get it...babies???  I just cracked myself up!!!  LOL  Ok, I think I'm a little delirious!!!

The pretty patterned paper is from the K & Company ~ Itsy Bitsy Baby Girl collection.  And the yellow and pink solid cardstock are from Recollections.  The cute little tag and the "Precious baby" sentiment are from the MCT ~ Teeny Tag Greetings stamp/die set.  The ink is Rose Bud ~ Memento ink.  I wrapped the treat box with some pretty pink tull--eeee (as Emma would say lol) and added a little pink flower gem from my stash.  And voila!  Cute little baby shower treats!

More Peachy Keen Stamps & Freckled Fawn Fun!

** For the "My Creative Time ~ February Release Sneak Peeks - Day 4" scroll down. **

Hello everyone!  I'm back with more Peachy Keen Stamps & Freckled Fawn fun!  Today I have another simple card combining the cupcake Washi Tape & the wood chips that I showed you earlier this week.

The white, pink and black cardstock are from Recollections. The brown patterned paper for the background and the cupcake base is from the Doodlebug Design ~ Sugar & Spice collection.  The pink patterned paper is from the Recollections ~ Love collection.  And the green patterned paper is also from the Doodlebug Design ~ Sugar & Spice collection.

The cupcake is from the PKS ~ April 2012 - Kit of the Month.  I paper pieced it and used pop dots for some fun dimension.  The cute little cherry is from the PKS ~ With A Cherry On Top! stamp set.  And the sweet little face is from the PKS ~ Funshine Face Assortment.

The "Happy Birthday" & "With A Cherry On Top!" sentiments are from the PKS ~ With A Cherry On Top stamp set.  The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  The black arrows are the little Freckled Fawn ~ Arrow Wood Chips. I used a black ~ Copic Sketch Marker to color them.  At the bottom of the card is a strip of the Freckled Fawn ~ Cupcake Washi Tape.  I adhered the tape to white cardstock and then cut the strip to adhere to the bottom of the card.

That's it...more simple fun!  I hope you all have a GREAT DAY with a CHERRY ON TOP!  Make sure you head on over to the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has created. And for more Freckled Fawn goodies click here.

My Creative Time ~ Sneak Peek Day 4 : February Release

Hello everyone!  I hope you have been enjoying all the crafty fun so far this week!!!  It's time for Day 4 of Sneak Peeks with My Creative Time.  Today the Design Team is showcasing these 3 new sets:  You're My Best Peep, You're My Pot Of Gold and the Treat Slider Box.

I kept it really simple today.  These are little 3.25" x 3.25" cards.  They are fun and super simple to create.  The white cardstock for both is from Recollections and the colored cardstock for both is from the Coredinations ~ Vintage Collection.

The dotted border is from the MCT ~ Small Talk stamp set. The sentiment and the cute little clovers are from the brand new MCT ~ You're My Pot Of Gold stamp set.  The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival ink.  The only thing I did is add some dimension to one of the clovers with pop dots and add the little gems for some bling.  That's it!

Once again, the dotted border is from the MCT ~ Small Talk stamp set.  And both sentiments and the little bunny are from the brand new MCT ~ You're My Best Peep.  The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival ink and Rose Bud ~ Memento ink.  I added little pearls for a necklace and pop dots for dimension.

Like I said, super super simple!  These could be fun little cards your kids could make for their classmates.  Fun!
