"Scrapping the Little Things" with MCT

Hello everyone!  And welcome back to another edition of "Scrapping the Little Things" with My Creative Time. For those of you who may be new to this, it's when we focus on creating Project Life or Smash Book layouts, or any other simple layout.

Ok, I have to admit that my layout today is not really that 'simple', but I made this as a gift for my husband's niece who is getting ready to have her first baby.  And growing up with a mother as a photographer, I always like to remember the importance of the photographs and the memories they hold. So this is a layout highlighting 4 generations of women in my husband's family.

Absolutely everything on this layout is made with My Creative Time products ~ WOOT! WOOT!  The pink cardstock in the background is from Bazzill.  The black and the white cardstock are from Recollections.  All of the other pink patterned papers are from the Doodlebug Design ~ Sugar & Spice collection.

The "it's a girl" title is made with the MCT ~ Lowercase Fun Dies.  I added a couple of little black gems to dot the 'i's and also did a little pen work with a black ~ Zig Writer pen.  The two beautiful hearts are cut with the MCT ~ Stitched Scallop Heart Die.  I used a couple of different sizes of pop dots under the two hearts for dimension.  I left out the center heart so they can add photos in there.  The beautiful bow is made with Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations ribbon.

The "introducing to you for the 1st time..." sentiment is from the MCT ~ All Star Baby stamp set.  The "daughter" and the label it's stamped on are from the MCT ~ Just Simply Live stamp set.  I used some pop dots under the label for dimension.  All of the little hearts there at the bottom are actually the center hearts cut from using the MCT ~ Stitched Scallop Heart Die.  The "name", "date", "time", "weight", and "inches" are all from the MCT ~ All Star Baby stamp set.

Three of the four generations.  I can't wait to see the whole layout with the fourth generation photo added.   Takes my breath away.

The frame around each photo is cut with the polaroid die in the MCT ~ Just Simply Live stamp set.

I used the alphabet stamps in the MCT ~ Just Simply Live stamp set to  identify each photo.  The labels are cut with the label die in the same stamp set.  I used pop dots under each label for dimension.

All of the flowers were created using the MCT ~ Flower Petal Dies.  I curled  up each petal.  And also added a black gem to the center of each flower.

If you look closely, you can see that I used the smallest flower and the smallest gem for the first photo, then two flowers with a larger gem for the second photo and finally all three flowers with the largest gem for the third photo.  I thought that would really emphasize the generations a little.

Well my creative friends, that's it for me today.  I plan to get a 12x12 scrapbook photo frame before I give it away.  I just LOVE how it turned out...so soft and pretty.  :)

Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  I will see you all again soon.  Have a great day!

PKS ~ Challenge 13-4 "Just Cards : Heart of Hearts"

Hello everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps.  This week's challenge is "Just Cards : Heart of Hearts".  The guidelines for this challenge: Create a card using hearts.  Design must be new and must include Peachy Keen Stamps to win Top Peach.

This is a sweet little Valentine's card.  The red card base is from Recollections.  All of the other patterned papers are from the Carta Bella ~ Devoted collection.

The beautiful little bouquet of flowers is from the PKS ~ Say It With Flowers stamp set.  I colored them in with Copic ~ Sketch Markers (still working on my technique, but I think they turned out ok).  I put them on pop dots for dimension and to help them stand out a little.  The "I love you" and "Happy Valentine's Day!" sentiments are from the PKS ~ January 2012 Kit of the Month.  The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.

The beautiful hearts are cut with my favorite new MCT ~ Stitched Scallop Heart Die.  I used pop dots behind the hearts for even more dimension.  And the soft little bow is made with Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations ribbon.

That's it for me today. Make sure you head on over to the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has made and to check out all the other challenge entries.  Hope to see your entry there too!   ;)   So join in on the fun!  You will be glad you did!!!

MCT ~ "Designer's Challenge" : Liz

Hello everyone!  It's time for the "Designer's Challenge" with My Creative Time.  The featured Designer for this challenge is the super talented Liz and she has created the "1-2-3 Challenge".  The guidelines for this challenge: Make a card or a layout using 1 bow, 2 pattern papers and 3 buttons.

I don't know about you, but I just love Disney!!!  The black cardstock is from Recollections.  The red patterned paper in the background is from the Creative Imaginations ~ Magic collection.  And the yellow patterned paper is from the Simple Stories ~ Snap Color Vibe collection.  The bow is made with Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations ribbon.  And the 3 red buttons are from my stash.

The label is cut with the MCT ~ Stitched Curly Label Die. The "don't forget to smile" sentiment is from the MCT ~ Camera Shy stamp set.  The little "love you..." sentiment is from the MCT ~ This & That stamp set.  The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  And I used pop dots behind the label for dimension.

That's it...super quick and simple, but such a cute card to brighten someone's day.  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  And don't forget to join in on the challenge - you will have 2 weeks to link up your project.  I can't wait to see what you all make!!!  Have a great day!  I will see you all again tomorrow.

"3-D Wednesday" with MCT

Hello everyone!  It's time for another "3-D Wednesday" with My Creative Time.  For those of you who are new to this, it's when we usually try to make anything besides a card or a layout.  Today's theme is to make a banner.  I made a banner and goofed and put it on a card...lol.  Oh well, it's still cute!   ;)

The solid brown cardstock is from Recollections.  All of the other pretty patterned papers are from the Doodlebug Design ~ Sugar & Spice collection.

I hung my little banner onto The Twinery ~ Cappuccino Twine with little jump rings.  You can find these little jump rings in the jewelry section at Michaels or maybe Joanns.

The banner pieces and the star bursts are cut with dies in the MCT ~ Build A Banner Kit.  I added little dots to the tips of the star bursts with a brown ~ Zig Writer pen.  And I put the star bursts on pop dots for dimension.

The letters to spell out "baby" are cut with the MCT ~ Lowercase Fun Dies.  I also put them on pop dots for even more dimension.

The "welcome sweet baby" sentiment is from the MCT ~ All Star Baby stamp set.  I heat embossed it with Versamark ~ Watermark Ink and white ~ Stampendous Embossing Powder.

The bow is made with Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations ribbon. And I'm so bummed, because it was the last of that ribbon and I don't think they make it anymore.  :(

Well my creative friends, that's it for me today...my 'not so 3Dish' project.  LOL  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  Have a great day!  I will see you all again tomorrow.

"Scrapping the Little Things" with MCT

Hello everyone and Happy Monday!  It's time for "Scrapping the Little Things" with My Creative Time.  For those of you who may be new to this, it's when we focus on creating Project Life or Smash Book layouts, or any other simple layout. Today, I am getting back to my most FAVORITE thing to scrapbook ~ Disneyland!!!

These are two simple 8x8 layouts.  But believe it or not, I used 4 different My Creative Time products.  :)

The yellow patterned cardstock in the background is from Lickety Split Scrapbooks.  I used pop dots behind the color photo of Donald Duck for a little dimension.  And the arrow is from the MCT ~ Just Simply Live stamp set.  The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink and I used a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen to color in the polka dots.

To make the "donald duck" title, I used the MCT ~ Lowercase Fun Dies.  Both the black and blue cardstock are from Recollections.  To achieve the shadow look, I layered the blue letters just off to the side of the black letters.  Then I used pop dots behind "donald" for a little dimension.  The ribbon is from my stash.

For this page, I decided to do some fun Donald Duck trivia.   :)

All of the frames are created with the MCT ~ Stitched Postage Frame Die.  The cardstock for them is from the Coredinations ~ Vintage Collection.

The "Did you know?" title is made with the alphabet stamps in the MCT ~ Just Simply Live stamp set.  To make the little Mickey head, I just used two different sizes of red gems.  I also elevated this one with pop dots to make it stand out just a little more.

For all of the little fun facts, I simply printed them out from my computer onto white cardstock.

The fun anchor is cut from the Mickey & Friends ~ Cricut Cartridge.  I put that on pop dots for more dimension.  The flowers are cut with the MCT ~ Flower Petal Dies.  The polka dot paper is from Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints.  The black cardstock is from Recollections.  In the center of the flower is a little button from my stash.  And in the center of the button is a little yellow gem.

Well my creative friends, that's it for me today.  I hope my fun Disney layout inspires you to work on your own scrapbook pages today.  Make sure to head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created. Have a great day!  I will see you all again soon.

Happy Birthday!

Hello everyone!  Guess what??  It's my day to post over at the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog.  Here is a fun Birthday Card I made using the PKS ~ January 2013 - Kit of the Month:

I don't know about you all, but sometimes I like to look at stamps and see how I can use them in different ways.  For this fun little card, I took the Love Lollipop stamp and cut off the sticks - leaving the leftover hearts to use as 'flower petals'.

The black card base is from Recollections.  The polka dot background paper is from the Carta Bell ~ Devoted collection.

Here is a closer look.  I used 3 different colors of ink for the petals: Technique Tuesday ~ red, rosequartz and cherry blossom .  Then I curled up the edges of the hearts/petals and adhered them together with pop dots.  (I just love dimension.  It completely changes the look and feel of every project).  In the center, I added a brad from my stash.

For the stem, I used a black pipe cleaner.  I added some pretty polka dot Celebrate It ~ 360 ribbon for the leaves.  And if you look closely under the ribbon, you can see that I stamped the little swirlies for even more leaf definition.

The "Happy Birthday!" sentiment in this kit has the cutest font! Don't you just love it??  In this picture, you can also see that I added some stitching around the border of the card with a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

For a cute little touch, I added these fun Jolee's Boutique ~ bee stickers.  Then, I used a black ~ Zig Writer pen to show the bees in 'motion' (this is another great technique to really bring your card to life).

Want to hear a funny little story?  So you know when you look at your project and there's just something missing?  Well, before I added the bees, I was sitting in my room just staring at this card. And my husband came in and asked me what was wrong.  I told him it was 'missing something'.  He came over and looked at it and said "I think it would look great if you added a little bee right there" (pointing to the place where I put the big bee).  He was right.  How's that for a super terrific SCRUBBY?  (aka - 'scrapbooking hubby' as Tammy Skinner from Creative Critterz would say...LOL).

Well that's it for me today.  I hope I have inspired you to make some Birthday Cards of your own to have on hand for the New Year.  Have a great day everyone!
