My Creative Time ~ "5 Days of Christmas" : Day 2

Hello everyone!  And welcome to the "5 Days of Christmas" with My Creative Time.  This week we will be sharing with you LOTS of last minute Christmas ideas such as cards, layouts, home decor, 3D items and whatever else comes to mind that will help YOU get your juices flowing for the holiday.  There will be a giveaway each day and a winner will be announced each day!  Example, the winner of Monday will be announced on Tuesday, the winner of Tuesday will be announced on Wednesday...and so on.  You will see the different prizes each day on Emma's blog HERE.  I hope we ALL inspire you this week!

For Day 2, my theme is Gift Cards:

Who doesn't love a good Gift Card during the holidays?!?  I know some people think they are impersonal, but when you make them look this cute...how can you go wrong!!!  All of the pretty patterned papers for these are from the Die Cuts With A View ~ Holiday Cheer Stack.

This first one is made with the GREATEST invention ever...the MCT ~ Embossed Gift Card Holder Die.  The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from the MCT ~ Fun Variety on the Inside & Out.  The little trees are from the MCT ~ Postcard Add Ons.  The ink is Emerald Green ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  The picture on the right is the holder all opened up so that you can see the gift card on the inside.

I made this holder using the MCT ~ Stitched 3x4 Journal Die.  I cut one for the base and another one (in half) for the front.  I decorated it using the MCT ~ Medium Stitched Scalloped Bow Die.  In the center is the star burst shape from the MCT ~ Build A Banner Kit with the little stitched circle die in the center of that.  The round sentiment and tree are from the MCT ~ Postcard Add Ons.  The inks are Vermilion ~ Ranger Archival Ink and Emerald Green ~ Ranger Archival Ink.

I had so many nice comments when I made the Baby Shower Gift Card Holder recently, that I decided to make another one with a Christmas theme.  For this one I used the MCT ~ Stitched 3x4 Journal Die.  I adhered it on 3 sides, leaving the right side open to slip the Gift Card in and out.  I used the MCT ~ Stitched Circle Tab Die to add a pull tab to the Gift Card.  The tree and the Dec 25 are from the MCT ~ Postcard Add Ons.  The inks are Vermillion ~ Ranger Archival Ink and Emerald Green ~ Ranger Archival.  I added a fun bow with ribbon from my stash.  Easy Peasy!

Well, that's it for me for Day 2 of the "5 Days of Christmas".  I hope you liked all of my Gift Card ideas. Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  I will see you all again soon!

I just love these!! the papers are so bright and colorful. I love how you show you can use other dies to create gift card holders. I just have one question, how did you cut the half piece so that it has the stiched edge all around??

Love your gift cards!!!! I have to travel every year round trip is almost 1200 miles and we travel with our little dog and our luggage and it hard to do presents so that is what everyone gets from us is a gift card. It makes it easier and they get exactly what they want so its a win win with us. So your gift card holders are excellent!!!!

I am one who does not think gift cards are impersonal at all. If they are for a store the person likes to shop at...what better way for them to pick out what they like instead of spending time returning what you spent time trying to pick out for them. I would not turn down a gift card...especially when they are as pretty as these ;) Great job!
