Happy Birthday !!!

Hello everyone and happy Monday!  Today I have a couple of fun birthday cards to share with you.

They were supposed to be "masculine", but they still look a little girlie...lol.

All of the papers are from the SEI ~ Beatnik Boy collection.  The super fun candles are cut from the Birthday Bash ~ Cricut Cartridge.  I just love using these for birthday projects.  I used some pop dots underneath each candle to add some fun dimension.

This absolutely perfect sentiment is from the My Creative Time ~ Celebrate Good Times stamp set. The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  If you look closely, you can see that I added some sparkle to the candle flames with some Diamond ~ Stickles.  For the bow, I used some Liz's Paper Loft ~ Hemp Twine (the lighter color) and then some other kind of fiber from my stash (the darker color).

In the lower right corner, you can see this pretty "Happy Birthday" sentiment that's also from the My Creative Time ~ Celebrate Good Times stamp set.  **Note that the "Happy Birthday" sentiment is actually only a part of the sentiment that says "Happy Birthday Sweetie", I just taped off the "Sweetie".  The ink again is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.

For project number two, I made this fun gift card holder.  It's made with the My Creative Time ~ Embossed Gift Card Holder Die (BEST INVENTION EVER!!!).  All of the papers are again from the SEI ~ Beatnik Boy collection.  The cute ice cream cones are cut with the dies from the My Creative Time ~ Celebrate Good Times stamp set.  I used some pop dots behind the ice cream to give it some dimension.  The super cute face is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Cherub Face Assortment.  I used a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll Pen for the eye and a red ~ Zig Writer Pen for the tongue.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from the My Creative Time ~ Gift Card Sentiments stamp set.  And the "Make A Wish!" sentiment is from the My Creative Time ~ Celebrate Good Times stamp set.  I added a cute little bow with some ribbon in my stash and a cute little Jolee's ~ birthday candle sticker. And voila!  Super cute and super quick!  I'm telling ya...if you don't have the My Creative Time ~ Embossed Gift Card Holder Die already...what are you waiting for???  Seriously, BEST INVENTION EVER!!!

Well my creative friends, that's it for today.  I will see you again soon with some cuteness overload from Peachy Keen Stamps. Have a great day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINE !!!

Hello everyone!  Today I have a super fun project to share with you.  It's my sweet friend Christine's birthday today and I made this super fun birthday banner for her to hang in her office at work.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY FRIEND!!!  I hope you have a GREAT day!

Don't you just love it???  It's so bright and colorful . . . how can you not smile?!?  Even though I am showing it to you in two pictures, it's actually one long banner.  The ribbon connecting it all together is my favorite Celebrate It ~ 360 ribbon.  I used some jump rings to hang all the tags from the ribbon.  You can usually find those in the jewelry section of your craft store.

All of the banner pieces are made with the My Creative Time ~ Tag Dies.  Aren't they fabulous?  They are PERFECT for making banners!  The "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" letters are all cut from the Don Juan ~ Cricut Cartridge.  And I used some pop dots underneath all the letters to give them dimension and help them pop off the banner pieces.  Most of embellishments are stickers from Jolee's Boutique.  And the cute little flowers are from an old company (that I don't think is in business anymore) called The Card Co.

All of the papers are from the Coredinations ~ Vintage Collection.  If you look at the black "BIRTHDAY" letters, you can see what the front side of the paper looks like.  In order to create a more subdued look for all the colors, I used the back side of all the color pieces.  That way I could still have the color, but it wouldn't be too bright AND the black letters would stand out better (not to mention that the back side of all the banner pieces will look fabulous!!).

Here are all the close up shots:

Now are you ready for the best part???

I found the PERFECT Michael's gift card to go with it!!!  I have this hanging in between the "HAPPY" and the "BIRTHDAY". Isn't it just great?!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SWEET FRIEND!!!  And if you all have an extra moment . . . please head on over to Christine's blog and leave her some Happy Birthday Love.

Have a great day everyone!  I will see you all again soon.

Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge #27

Hello everyone!  It's time for the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge #27 : Sketch.  The guidelines for this challenge are:  Create a project based on the sketch below.  Design must be new and must include Peachy Keens Stamps to win.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

The black cardstock is from Recollections.  The white cardstock is from Georgia Pacific.  All of the fun patterned papers are from the SEI ~ Winnie's Walls collection.  The sun is cut from the Cheerful Seasons : Creative Memories ~ Cricut Cartridge.

For the inner circle of the sun, I used a Marvy Uchida ~ Circle Punch.  The fabulous face is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Retro Paper Doll Face Assortment.  I colored in the eyes with a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll Pen and Prismacolor ~ Pencils.  I added some cheeks with chalk.  And I did some faux stitching around the circle with a black ~ Zig Writer Pen.  I also added pop dots underneath the sun and the sun's face for some extra dimension.

The "Rise and Shine!" sentiment is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ July 2012 : Kit of the Month.  And underneath that is some fun green felt ~ rick rack from my stash.

For the "It's your Birthday!" sentiment, I combined 3 different sentiments in the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ April 2012 : Kit of the Month.  The "It's" is from the "It's Time" sentiment.  The "your" is from the "for your birthday" sentiment.  And the "Birthday!" is from the "Happy Birthday" sentiment.  To achieve this look, all you have to do is tape off the words you don't want to use and voila . . . you have a customized sentiment!  Give it a shot - you will be amazed at what you can do when you look at all your stamps. Oh...and I added a couple of little green gems from my stash.

And of course, I had to add a beautiful bow made with this pretty Celebrate It ~ 360 ribbon.

Well, that's it for today.  I hope you love all of the Peachy goodness.   :)   Make sure you head on over to the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge Blog to see all of the other entries.  I will see you all again soon.  Have a great day!

My Creative Time ~ Guest Designer!

Hello everyone!  I'm filling in for Emma today while she continues to spend time with her family during her son's recovery.  It's been several weeks since this whole thing started and I can only imagine how difficult this has been for everyone in her family.  So I wanted to make another card for Emma to continue sending her lots of love and support and let her know just how much we all care.

This is a 6x6 card, which I think is a great size when you are creating a scene.  The card base is made with kraft colored cardstock from Recollections.  And I did some faux stitching along the borders of the card with a black ~ Zig Writer Pen.

This wonderful hot air balloon is made with the recently released MCT ~ Fly Away With Me stamp set and the MCT ~ Fly Away With Me Dies.  This super fun hot air balloon is perfect for paper piecing!  I used my favorite Doodlebug Designs ~ Petite Prints patterned paper.  The polka dots and the grid paper are the two different sides of the same sheet. The red accents on the balloon and the balloon basket are made with Recollections ~ cardstock.  For some dimension, I added pop dots behind the hot air balloon.

For the sentiments, I mixed two different stamp sets.  The "Sending you" is from the MCT ~ Fun Pockets stamp set. **It's actually just a portion of the full sentiment that says "Sending you a pocket full of."  I just taped off the words that I didn't want to use.  The "Love" is from the MCT ~ Floral Sentiments stamp set.  **Once again, it's only a portion of the full sentiment that says "With Love..." and I just taped off the parts I wasn't going to use.  The inks are black ~ Ranger Archival Ink and Ladybug Red ~ Memento Ink.

One of my favorite parts about this card (besides the hot air balloon of course) are the clouds.  These wonderful clouds are cut with the cloud dies in the MCT ~ Fly Away With Me Dies. There are two different sizes like you see here.  And they have Emma's wonderful signature stitching around the edges. LOVE IT!!!  The paper for the clouds is simple Georgia Pacific ~ white cardstock from Walmart.  I added some pop dots underneath the little cloud on the right for some extra dimension and to show a little movement in the scene.  The pretty blue with white polka dots patterned paper is from the Bella Blvd ~ Baby Boy collection.

Another one of my favorite parts (ok, I just love the whole card...lol) are the little hearts.  I used the tiny little heart stamp from the MCT ~ Happy Mail stamp set.  I stamped them all with Ladybug Red ~ Memento ink and then cut them all out by hand and placed them randomly to look as if they are falling from the balloon basket.  The paper for the grassy hills is from the Coredinations ~ Vintage collection.  I used the old Creative Memories ~ Wavy Trimmer - which is just perfect for making mountains, hills and water.  I also added a little green chalk to the tops of the hills for a little extra dimension and definition.

Well, that's it for me.  I hope you liked my simple little card today.  Thanks for stopping by.  We will see you all again tomorrow.  And make sure to leave a comment full of love so that we can continue to support Emma through these last few weeks of Aaron's recovery.  He is such a little trooper!!!

Cricut Circle Blog ~ Weekly Challenge #62

Hello everyone!  It's time for the Cricut Circle Blog ~ Weekly Challenge #62 : Card Sketch Challenge.  The guidelines for this challenge:  Create a Cricut card using the sketch below.  Your project must be newly created for this challenge and include two Cricut Image cuts.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

The card base and the white cardstock are from Recollections. The beautiful patterned paper is from the SEI ~ Promise Me collection.

All of the pretty pastel papers for the flowers are from the SEI ~ Promise Me collection.  You can't really tell in this picture, but the papers are a pretty shimmery paper...just gorgeous in real life.  The beautiful flowers are cut from the Flower Shoppe ~ Cricut Cartridge.  The large flower is flower #6 and the small flower is flower #10.  If you look closely, you can see the leaves behind the large flower.  They are leaf #5.  I curled the petals of the flowers for extra dimension.  The ribbon is Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations ribbon.  And in the center of the small flower is a Making Memories ~ Brad.

The sentiment is from the My Creative Time ~ Floral Sentiments stamp set.  I think this font is absolutely beautiful!!!  The ink is Memento ~ Rich Cocoa Ink.  And to the right of the sentiment is another Making Memories ~ Brad.

I used a corner rounder to round some of the corners for a softer look.

That's it - super easy, but yet oh so beautiful!  I made this for my BFF's mother's birthday.  So if you are reading this . . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDI !!!   (sorry it's a day early - I had to get it posted before the contest closed)   ;)

Have a great day everyone.  See you again soon.

Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge #26

Hello everyone!  Today I have something fun and different.  It's time for the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge #26 : 3D Objects - Gift Bags.  The guidelines for this challenge:  Stamp a gift bag!  Design must be new and must include Peachy Keen Stamps to win.

Here is my super fun gift bag:

Isn't it so cute?!?!  I just LOVE it!!!  Instead of using the traditional gift bag, I decided to use a plain old brown paper bag - you know the old fashioned "lunch bag"?     ;)

Let's start off with my super cute little girl.  She is from the brand new Peachy Keen Stamps ~ July 2012 : Kit of the Month.  Isn't she just adorable?  I stamped her with black ~ Ranger Archival Ink. The white paper is X-Press It ~ Blending Card paper and I colored her in with Copic ~ Sketch Markers.  I forgot to take a close up shot of her hair, but I think I did a pretty good job with my coloring.  She almost looks like she has natural highlights!!!

The patterned paper for her cute little dress, her hair ties and her shoes is from the Creative Imaginations ~ Gingham collection.  I paper pieced the little red layer of her dress and that paper is from Recollections.  I added some fun little red gems from my stash for the buttons on her dress and also her hair ties.

The red and black mats are also from Recollections.  Up at the top, you can see that I added the funny sentiment "How old are you today?" which is from the My Creative Time ~ What's Growing On? stamp set.  I used a corner rounder to round off the corners of the sentiment tab for a little bit of a different look.  And finally, if you look closely, you can see that I stamped the background (which is the brown paper bag) with the fabulous "Peachy Keen Stamps ~ What Time Is It?" background stamp.

For the top of the bag, I folded down the bag about an inch. Then I added this fun Celebrate It ~ 360 ribbon.  I created the fun little design by using a hot glue gun in between the folds of the ribbon.  Above that, I added the perfect "Happy Birthday!" sentiment which is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Darren and Laura stamp set.  Isn't that such a fun font?  I rounded off the corners of this tab to match the one below.  To finish it off, I added the fun polka dot tissue paper inside the bag.

Here is a closer view.  Hopefully you can see how I did the ribbon a little better.

Here's a side view so that you can see some of the dimension.  I was in a bit of a hurry, so I only decorated the front side of the bag.  Shhhhhh...don't tell anyone.    ;)

Here is a side view of the whole bag.  Don't you just love that "What Time Is It?" background stamp???  I'm not gonna say who this little gift bag is for, but can you tell that I'm teasing her a little bit about her age?  LOL  Hopefully she will think it's funny too.   ;)   One more quick thing to mention, I added some pop dots behind my little girl piece so that it pops off the bag with extra dimension.

Ok my creative friends, that's it for today.  If you have never participated in a challenge yet ~ give it a shot!  It will really help your creativity grow to another level.  So join in on the fun!  You will be glad you did.  Now head on over to the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge Blog to see all the other entries and to check out the projects by the fabulous PKS ~ Design Team.  I will see you all back here tomorrow.  Have a great day!
