My Creative Time ~ "3-D Wednesday"

Hello everyone!  It's time for another "3-D Wednesday" with My Creative Time.  The goal is to challenge yourself by making anything besides a card or a layout.

Today I have something a little different . . . well - it's a bouquet which is not that different for me lately - lol, but it's a memorial piece:

Many of you may remember that just about a year ago, my best friend's father died.  Well, this weekend is the 1yr anniversary, so I made this to give to her mother when we meet for dinner on Saturday.  It can be hard to come up with creative ideas when we are memorializing our loved ones or when we are documenting the hard times so that's why I decided to share it with you.  If you want to see one of my most favorite projects I have ever made ~ click HERE to see the original piece I gave her after his funeral.

The paper for this calendar is from the Die Cuts With A View ~ Chateau Lavender stack.  I cut it out with the My Creative Time ~ XL Label Die.  The pretty border and calendar are from the My Creative Time ~ Whimsical Calendar Days stamp set. The ink is Memento ~ Rich Cocoa.

At the front of this picture, you can see that I used the My Creative Time ~ Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies.  The scallop shape is a pretty sparkly/glittery paper from the Die Cuts With A View ~ Chateau Lavender stack.  For the picture, I just printed that out with my printer and lined up the Stitched Circle Die to cut it out...took me a few times to get it just right, but I think it turned out great.  I inked the edges of the circle with Color Box ~ Chestnut Roan ink.

The beautiful cross is cut from the Easter ~ Cricut cartridge. The paper for both is from the Die Cuts With A View ~ Chateau Lavender stack.  The background piece is sparkly/glittery and the the top piece is shimmery.  It's hard to see in this picture, but it's super pretty in real life.

***Tip ~ for the printing, I used my computer.  Here's what you do: print out what you want on a regular piece of computer paper.  It may take you awhile to get the look you want with font, spacing, etc - but once you have it the way you like it - then, take your image (in this case the cross) and add removable adhesive to the back of it...make sure it sticks good. Then place your image onto the piece of computer paper right over where the printing is.  Then run it through your computer again...and voila!  You have to make sure you stick it down good though.  The first time I did this one, my cross came off and jammed in my printer :(  took me awhile to dig it out.  LOL

This beautiful and perfect sentiment is from the My Creative Time ~ Many Greetings stamp set.  I stamped it with black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  The beautiful shape is cut with the My Creative Time ~ Curly Label Die.  The outline is from the My Creative Time ~ Inspiring Words Accents stamp set. The ink is Memento ~ Rich Cocoa.

I didn't get a very good picture of it, but inside the little flower pot I put some brown and cream colored crinkled paper filler. Not sure who makes it, but they sell it in bags at Michaels and they have all different colors too.

The little flower pot is also from Michaels.  I've used it before in another project I made for a PKS challenge entry.  I get them when they are on sale and then I pull out the ugly plant that's inside...lol. It's a really pretty pot that usually has like a grass type plant in it.  It's easy to pull out piece by piece, but it makes a mess.  And the pretty bow is made with Celebrate It ~ 360 ribbon.  It has the neatest texture - almost like the crate paper we used to use to decorate for birthday parties in the old days.

Well, that's it for today.  I know it's a little different, but hopefully it gives you some inspiration on how to be creative during the tougher times in life.  Have a great my friends.  I will see you again soon.  And make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  :)  Have a great day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Hello everyone!  Over this past weekend, Peachy Keen Stamps unveiled their new March product release...soooo cute!   And over at the Peachy Keen Connection they had a couple of challenges.  The first challenge was super simple: make a card or project using at least 2 different patterned papers.

Here was my entry:

Can you say CA-UUUUUTE?!?!  To make these super cute balloons, I used the smaller egg die in the My Creative Time ~ Hello Spring stamp set.  I got the inspiration from my fellow MCT ~ Design Team Member - Miss Veronica.  To see her original creation ~ click HERE.  I just added a little triangle at the bottom of each balloon to make it look like a balloon and not an upside down egg.  LOL  Aren't they cute?!?!  The white scalloped background piece is cut with the Elegant Edges ~ Cricut cartridge.

All of the different pink patterned papers are from my all time favorite Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints.  This is a good chance to see them up close.  One of the papers has polka dots on one side and the squares or grid looking paper on the other side.  The other paper in the collection has the flowers on one side and stripes on the other side.  Like I said....my all time favorite!!!  And of course in comes in all the different colors of the rainbow!!!  :)

The super cute faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps.  The face at the top is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Faceless Gingerbread Dolls stamp set.  The face at the bottom is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Cornies Face Assortment.  I used a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen to color in the eyes.  I also added chalk for cheeks.  And on the balloon at the top, I also used a red ~ Zig Writer pen for the nose and a bright blue ~ Zig Writer Pen for the eye shadow (it's hard to see in this picture, but think 70's blue!)

The sentiment in the upper left corner is from the My Creative Time ~ Wow! So Many Candles stamp set.  The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  If you look closely, you can also see that I did some embossing with the Polka Dots ~ Cuttlebug folder.

The sentiment in the bottom right corner is also from the My Creative Time ~ Wow! So Many Candles stamp set.  The balloon strings are The Twinery ~ Pink Sorbet twine.  The pretty little bow is made from Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations ribbon.

Well, that's it for me today.  Super cute and fairly simple.  I will see you all tomorrow.  And I will show you my second challenge entry on another day so stay tuned.  :)

"Monday Madness ~ Imagine That" with My Creative Time

Hello everyone!  It's time for another "Monday Madness ~ Imagine That!" with My Creative Time.  The goal is to use your Cricut Imagine machine and my assignment is to also use the Color Me Happy stamp set.  I decided to make this fun card as a Thank You to Ryan ~ who is the super terrific guy who made my new blinkie and helped me polish up my new blog header.

You can probably tell that I got my inspiration from my new colorful blog header.  Have I told you that I just LOVE all the colors of the rainbow?  LOL  The black and white cardstock  are from Recollections.  For the border, I used the EK Success ~ Deco Scallop border punch.  I also added some colorful little gems from my stash for a some extra sparkle.  All of the super cute hearts are cut with the heart die from the My Creative Time ~ 100% Sweetness stamp set.

The "color me happy..." sentiment is from the My Creative Time ~ Color Me Happy stamp set.  I stamped it in full the first time.  Then I just inked and stamped the "happy..." a whole bunch more times to indicate how super happy I was with my new blog design and all of Ryan's wonderful help.

The red heart is printed from the Better Together ~ Cricut Imagine cartridge.  The orange heart is printed from the Blast Off ~ Cricut Imagine cartridge.  And the yellow heart is printed from the Bubblegum Stripes ~ Cricut Imagine cartridge.

The green heart is printed from the Mr. Frosty ~ Cricut Imagine cartridge.  The blue heart is printed from the Bubblegum Stripes ~ Cricut Imagine cartridge.  And the purple heart is printed from the Bubblegum Stripes ~ Cricut Imagine cartridge.

You can also see that in the bottom right corner - the sentiment "Thank You" is from the My Creative Time ~ My Teacher Rocks stamp set.  All of the ink is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.

I know I say this every time, but my absolute favorite part of owning the Cricut Imagine is being able to print my own patterned paper.  It's worth every penny!!!!!

Well, that's it for today my friends.  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  Have a great day!  I will see you soon.

THE BIG REVEAL !!!

Hello everyone!  Ok ~ here it is . . . the new title to my blog. What do you all think?  And of course I just couldn't add one color ~ I had to go with the whole rainbow . . . my favorite!  I hope it brightens your day a little when you see it.  I know it sure makes me smile.  :)   I even have a new BLINKIE!!!  I feel so official now!  LOL  Make sure you scroll on down and pick it up - you will see it on the right side about half way down by the followers.

I want to thank all of you who gave suggestions and helped me to create a new blog title.  I also want to thank my super great dad who helped me get started with the new header.  And my biggest thanks goes to RYAN - the husband of a super sweet blogging buddy of mine.  He is the most AMAZING man!  He helped me put the final touches on my new header and he made my super cool BLINKIE!!  Isn't it great???  I can't thank him enough.

Well, I'm off to my craft room for some creative fun.  PKS is having a fun release party today so go check them out.  Have a great day my creative friends.  And don't forget to leave me a comment today and let me know what you think of the new look.  :)  See you soon!

My Creative Time ~ "Favorite Stamp of the Month"

Hello everyone!  It's time for another My Creative Time ~ "Favorite Stamp of the Month" project.  This time Emma is doing things a little differently: the focus is any stamp set from the 1st Edition, 2nd Edition or 3rd Edition release.  Wow! That's a lot to choose from!  Emma is going to pick one set from each release and offer them at a special sale price for a limited time only - so make sure you head on over to the brand new My Creative Time Store to check them out!

For my project, I chose the Color Me Happy stamp set from the very first release.

Now, I hope you are not saying "what the heck are those?"  LOL My wonderful friend Linda (aka ~ The Tulip Collector) gave me this great idea to use the egg die in the newly released My Creative Time ~ Hello Spring stamp set to make tulip flowers. They didn't turn out exactly how I envisioned, but when I showed my husband he said he could see right away that they were tulips.  All I can see are 'eggs on a stick' LOL  Either way, I think the card turned out cute.

The solid color papers for the tulips are from Recollections.  I used the small egg die (the one with the Emma's signature stitching outline) for the flowers.  I cut the outer petals in a darker shade of each color and the inside petal in a softer shade.  I added an outline to the outer petals by filling in the stitching lines with a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen.  I used various sizes of pop dots underneath the flowers for extra dimension ~ I just always like that look a little better than adhering images straight to the card.

The stems are just a thin strip of patterned cardstock from Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints.  I added a little bit of Celebrate It ~ Occasions tulle to each stem to simulate leaves.  Then, at the bottom of the card I added Celebrate It ~ Easter ribbon that I gathered/folded and adhered with a glue gun.  It's takes a little while, but I just love the look.

At the top of the card, I used the "Happy Easter" sentiment from the My Creative Time ~ Color Me Happy stamp set.  I stamped it multiple times across the top with black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  In the upper right & left corners, I also added some little Recollections ~ pearls in the same colors as the flowers.  And I used a corner rounder for the corners at the top of the card - just to give it a little different look.

Well there you have it ~ 'eggs on a stick' LOL or beautiful tulip flowers . . . either way - I hope it makes you smile.   :)

Here are some past projects with these stamp sets:

The sentiment on this card is from the MCT ~ Color Me Happy stamp set.  For the original post - click here.

The sentiment on this card is from the I Believe in Leprechauns stamp set.  For the original post - click here.

The little "love you" sentiment on this card is from the MCT ~ Mom You Rock stamp set.  For the original post - click here.

The fun sentiments on this card are from the Wow! So Many Candles stamp set.  To see the original post - click here.

So, that's my trip down memory lane with the older stamp sets. Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created for today.  And Emma is once again going to have a "Linky Party".  So if you have any of the stamp sets released in either the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Editions ~ link up a project that you have made with them.  We would love to see your creations!  :)

Have a great day my friends!  I will see you again soon.

My Creative Time ~ "3-D Wednesday"

Hello everyone!  It's time for another "3-D Wednesday" with My Creative Time.  The goal is to challenge yourself by making anything besides a card or a layout.

Here is my creation:

This little wedding favor is cut from the Tie The Knot ~ Cricut cartridge.  Isn't it so pretty?  But I promise . . . it was super simple to make.  The beautiful shimmery paper is from the Bazzill ~ Wedding collection.  I cut it out at 11.25 inches and when it's all assembled it measures just a little more than 4.5 inches tall.  I added some Celebrate It ~ Wedding tulle around the middle and little Recollections ~ pearls at the top, along with a Recollections ~ pearl flower in the center.  At the very bottom, I stamped the "For Your Wedding Shower" sentiment from the My Creative Time ~ More Gift Card Sentiments stamp set.  The ink is black Ranger ~ Archival Ink. And I used my heat gun to heat set the sentiment so that I wouldn't accidentally smudge it.

This didn't take very long to put together at all!!!  On the inside, you could add some fun little party mints for a bridal shower or even some nice chocolates for a wedding favor.  It's too small for a gift card if you wanted to give it as a present, but you could always fit some cold hard cash in there.   ;)   And if you're interested, there is a fun little tuxedo treat box on the cartridge too.

Well my creative friends, that's it for me today.  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  I will see you all back here tomorrow.  Have a great day!

Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Challenge #5

Hello everyone!  It's time for the Peachy Challenge #5 ~ Just Cards Challenge : Friendship.  The guidelines for this challenge:  We want you card-makers out there to show us your SKILLZ!  This week, create a card using the theme provided: FRIENDSHIP.  Your card can include any stamps, but remember you can only earn "Top Peach" if you use your Peachy Stamps!

Here is my fun creation:

I recently bought the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ 4 inch Gingerbread Faces and I have been dying to use them.  So I made this super big and fun flower card - it's a 6x6 card.  The light purple cardstock for the flower face is from Recollections. All of the other patterned papers are from the Die Cuts With A View ~ Chateau Lavender paper stack.

The flower is cut from the Flower Shoppe ~ Cricut cartridge. It's the #10 flower - all the way at the end.  I curled the edges of all the petals for some dimension.  I also inked the edges of all the petals and the flower face with Color Box ~ Chestnut Roan ink.  Once again, the face is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ 4 inch Gingerbread Faces.  I stamped it with Ranger ~ black Archival Ink.  (I just got this ink and I love it!!!)  I colored it in with Prismacolor ~ pencils.  And I added some cheeks with chalk.  I also put some pop dots underneath the face for a little extra dimension.

I used some green Celebrate It ~ Occasions Tulle to give the feeling of leaves.  I used the My Creative Time ~ Curly Label Die for the fun little label.  I also inked around the edges of this with Color Box ~ Chestnut Roan ink.  The fun sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper ~ Everyday Life stamp set.

Here is a little more of a side view to show all the dimension.  I just love the flowers on the Flower Shoppe ~ Cricut cartridge. And they all go PERFECTLY with Peachy Keen Stamps!!!

Well that's it for today my friends.  I made this card for a super sweet friend of mine.  I sure hope she likes it.  Head on over to the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog to see the other entries for the challenge.  I will see you all back here really soon.  Have a great day!!!

Winner! Winner! Winner! cont...

Hi everyone!  I'm back with the winner of the Rename My Blog Contest.  I think I have my new blog name all figured out, but I'm trying to create a new header/banner thingy...and I have no idea what I'm doing.  So it may take me awhile to get it up and going.  Anyway, there were so many GREAT entries. You all are super creative.  The new name that I am going to go with wasn't exactly what anyone had created, but it was pretty close to a few.  And I felt bad, because I mentioned at the last minute that I decided I wanted the word "color" in the title too. So, in order to be fair I decided to use 'random.org' to choose the winner out of all the people who commented with suggestions.  And the winner is . . .

#61 --- nanapuddin

Wahoo!  Congratulations!  I will be sending you an email to get your mailing address.  And here is the super cool prize you have won:

It's a Cricut Cartridge Binder!  With a secret prize inside!   I sure hope you like it!   ;)

Well that's it for today.  I hope to figure out my new blog name banner thingy soon, but it may take me ahwile.  LOL  I will see you all back here tomorrow with a fun PKS Challenge entry.

BLOGOVERSARY ~ GIVEAWAY & CONTEST

Happy Saturday everyone!  Just a quick reminder that today is the last day to get your comments in for my 1-YR BLOGVERSARY GIVEAWAY.  For the original post - click here.

And I have been loving all the entries for the RENAME MY BLOG CONTEST!!  I have absolutely no idea how I am going to choose . . . LOL.  I am so surprised that no one has really used the word "color" or "colorful" yet.  If anyone has any ideas including either word, let me know on the original post - here. At some point, I am going to try to redesign the look of my blog and I am hoping to incorporate all the colors of the rainbow in some way.  So I just had the thought that including the word "color" or "colorful" would be perfect.  I had no idea all this blog stuff could be so complicated.  LOL

Well, that's it for today.  You have until midnight tonight to get your comments in (on the original post) for the Blogoversary Giveaway.  And I may have to wait a few more days to decide about renaming my blog.  I am having such a hard time deciding.  Thank you soooo much for all of your ideas.  They have been so helpful.  Not to worry though.  I have decided that whether or not I choose one of the ideas for the new name, I am still going to do a giveaway for all the people who gave an idea.  So stay tuned for that as well.

Have a great day my creative friends.  I will see you back here tomorrow.  :)

My Creative Time ~ February Stamp Release - BLOG HOP

Hello everyone!  What a great Sneak Peek Week...don't ya think?!?  Now it's time for the BEST part . . . the BLOG HOP!  If you came here from the super talented Amy's blog, then you are in the right place.  If not, then make sure you go back to My Creative Time so that you can start at the beginning with Emma.  You don't want to miss a thing!

For my project today, I get to showcase the new My Creative Time ~ Happy Hunting stamp set.  Many of you probably know me enough by now . . .  to know that I can't help but to also include other stamp sets & dies - because ALL of Emma's products work so perfectly together.  So here is a complete list of all the My Creative Time stamp sets I used in my project today:

XL Label Die

Here is my super fun Birthday Bouquet:

Sorry for the weird picture, it was hard to get a good close shot with the whole thing in it.  I will have some closer shots down below and if you want a closer look - click on the picture to enlarge it.  It looks way cooler in real life!!

So in case you can't tell - I don't have one favorite color . . . I love the WHOLE entire rainbow.  :)  And that's one of the reasons why I just love this new Happy Hunting stamp set. It includes the most perfect sentiment, so I thought I would show you a different look using this great sentiment stamp besides the Easter projects I have been showing you this week.

Isn't this sentiment perfect?  "Wishing your day is colorful, bright & cheerful"  I just LOVE it!  I used the MCT ~ XL Label Die that I cut in half.  For the border, I used the MCT ~ Whimsical Calendar Days stamp set.  And I stamped the sentiment from the MCT ~ Happy Hunting stamp set  with Technique Tuesday black ink.  The bow is made with the most beautiful Celebrate It ~ 360 ribbon.

Moving up the bouquet, you can see that I used the heart die from the MCT ~ 100% Sweetness stamp set.  I used Recollections ~ white cardstock and the pretty flower background stamp from the MCT ~ Spring Chicken Backgrounds stamp set.  I stamped one in each color using Technique Tuesday ~ red, orange, yellow, green, blue & purple ink.

Continuing up the bouquet, you can see that I used the MCT ~ Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies.  The patterned paper for the scallop shape is from the Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints collection (the reverse side from the polka dots).  The white cardstock is Recollections.  Inside the circles, I used the MCT ~ All Around Birthday Time stamp set "Happy Birthday" & "Sweet Birthday Wishes" sentiments.  I used the same Technique Tuesday ~ red, orange, yellow, green, blue & purple ink.  In the center, I added matching buttons threaded with white floss tied in a cute little bow.

Also in the bouquet are colored hearts cut with the heart die in the MCT ~ 100% Sweetness stamp set.  The awesome polka dot paper is my favorite Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints.

You can also see if you look closely some fun little coiled wires with pretty little iridescent flowers attached to some of the leaves.  Now I have to admit (just so you don't give me too much credit) . . . this whole little tree with the cute little fence at the bottom - I bought from Michaels.  It was an Easter tree with little eggs all over it.  But the minute I saw it, I knew I wanted to do something different with it.  So, I got out my handy dandy Tim Holtz ~ Tonic scissors that can cut ANYTHING and I snipped off all the little eggs.  And in their place I put all the little hearts & scallop flowers.  Then voila . . . a super cute Birthday Bouquet!  I really hope the cuteness shows through.

Well, that's it for me.  I hope you love my fun birthday bouquet.  ;)   Now let's talk about the good stuff...

My Creative Time ~ Sneak Peek Day 3: February Release

Hello everyone!  Welcome back for the My Creative Time ~ Sneak Peek Week : Day 3!  Today is the last day of sneaks. The big reveal will be tomorrow Thursday, Feb. 16th over at My Creative Time at 12:01 am PST - instead of the usual Friday release.  So don't miss it!!!  Today, the Design Team is showcasing the new Hello Spring stamp set

Recognize these little cuties?  Everyone loved them so much when I showed them during the My Creative Time ~ 12 Days of Christmas, so I decided to bring them back with a little variation.  All of the cute little button containers are in the $1 bin at Michaels (actually, this time it was $1.50 lol).  For the pretty embellishment that I made for the front, I used the My Creative Time ~ Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies.  The "Happy Spring" sentiment is from the new My Creative Time ~ Hello Spring stamp set.  The pretty little flower gems are from the Dress It Up ~ Springtime In Paris collection.  And I added simple little bows made with Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations ribbon.

The patterned paper is from the Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints collection.  The ink is Technique Tuesday ~ Amethyst ink.

The patterned paper for this one is also from the Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints collection.  The ink is Memento ~ Rosebud ink.

The patterned paper here is again from the Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints collection.  (It's the reverse side of the polka dot paper that you often see me use).  The ink is Technique Tuesday ~ green ink.

I also made this super duper cute little card.  The base is kraft cardstock from Joanns.  All of the white cardstock is from Recollections.

Isn't this little chickie stamp soooo cute?!?!?  It's from the My Creative Time ~ Hello Spring stamp set.  I'm not very good at coloring yet.  I used Prismacolor Pencils to color them in.  One of these days I will give my Copics a try - lol.  This stamp set also comes with layering egg dies.  I actually didn't use them as layers for this card, but I did use both sizes.  The smaller one (or top layer) has Emma's signature stitching outline.

This stamp set also has two beautiful stamps for the inside of the eggs...one is flowers and the other pretty swirls. The ink is Technique Tuesday ~ turquoise, yellow, and amethyst; as well as Memento ~ Rosebud and Green Ivy.  To add a little extra something, I added pastel colored Recollections ~ pearls to each egg.  I also added some pop dots underneath some of the eggs for dimension.

Aren't they soooo beautiful?!?!?  The sentiment is also from the Hello Spring stamp set.  I used Versamark ~ Watermark Ink and white ~ Stampendous embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment.  I also tried another new technique today.  For the "grass", I used Celebrate It ~ Easter ribbon and then I just randomly folded/gathered the ribbon and adhered it with a glue gun.  I think it turned out pretty cute. Most of the time, I see people use their sewing machine for this technique, but that might be a little too scary for me LOL.

Well my friends, those are my two colorful projects for the day using the super cute new My Creative Time ~ Hello Spring stamp set.  Hope you like them.  :)
