Happy Birthday

Hello everyone!  I had such a busy weekend, that I didn't have much time for creating.  So today, it's just a quick and simple card.

Over the weekend, Emma over at My Creative Time had a fun little Birthday Blog Hop for her mother.  Since I know that her mother works sooo hard as Emma's shipping manager, I thought I would make a cute little card to say Happy Birthday and Thank You.  From the blog hop, I found out that she likes teddy bears and the colors pink and blue.  So I made this super simple little card.  Actually, it's a gift card holder....one of Emma's new dies.  And I have to tell you that....IT IS AWESOME!  You just have to get one.  It's so quick and easy to use, I can see this coming in so handy when you're in a hurry to make something quick.

The kraft cardstock is from Joann's.  The solid pink cardstock is from Recollections. The pretty pink patterned paper is from the Echo Park Paper Co. ~ Springtime paper collection.  The AWESOME gift card holder is cut with the new My Creative Time ~ Embossed Gift Card Die.  The sentiment is from the My Creative Time ~ Gift Card Sentiments stamp set.  The cute little bear is cut from the Create A Critter ~ Cricut cartridge.  Her sweet little face is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Critter Faces stamp set.  I added some pretty little Recollections ~ Pearls for a necklace and a pretty little bow from my ribbon stash.  I also used a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen for some accents.

That's it for today.  It's a small little project....but I must say...YOU HAVE TO GET THIS DIE!!! It is soooo AWESOME.  If you want to check it out, go HERE.  You won't be sorry...well, maybe your bank account will be LOL, but it is soooo worth it!! :)

See you soon.  Have a great week!

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge

Hello everyone.  It's time for the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Sketch Challenge #59 with a Twist!  The rules for this challenge:  Create a card based on the sketch provided and the twist (Peachy Keen Stamps are not required for this challenge, but if you've got them, we looooooove seeing how you create with them).  Project must include basic elements of the sketch and the twist ~ BUTTONS...use buttons somewhere on your project.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card....I changed it up a little, but all the basic elements are there:

The solid color cardstock is from Recollections.  The patterned paper is from the SEI ~ With All My Heart paper collection.  The cute little ladybug is cut from the Create A Critter ~ Cricut cartridge.  Her sweet little face is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Critter Faces stamp set.  I added some stitching with a black ~ Zig Writer pen and a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen. I also added some cute little cheeks with pink/red chalk.  The "Sending you lots of love" sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper ~ Fabulous Phrases stamp set.

All of the flowers are cut from the Mother's Day Bouquet ~ Cricut cartridge.  I curled all the petals to give the flowers some dimension.

For some of the flower centers, I added Recollections ~ Pearls. And for some others I added some pretty red gems from ~ Doodlebug Designs. And for the twist, I made sure to add some beautiful black/clear buttons....isn't the flower design on the button so pretty???  Now to mix it up a little, I threaded some of the buttons with pretty twine from the Twinery.  And for a few other buttons, I added the same pearls and gems to the center of the buttons to give them a little extra something.

Well, that's it for today.  I hope you all have a great week.  See you back here soon.

Thank you!

Back again :)  Today, I have another Thank You card ~ very similar to the last one, but just a little different.  Shhhhhh ~ don't say anything, but I made this to send to Emma over at My Creative Time for picking me to be a Guest Designer :)

This is a 9-1/4 x 4 card.  The solid color cardstock is from Recollections.  The polka dot (Emma's favorite) patterned paper is Doodlebug Design ~ Petite Prints.  The flowers are cut with my Cuttlebug and the My Creative Time's (Emma's) ~ Scallop die.  The center scallop circles are cut with a Marvy Uchida punch.  And the "Thank You" sentiment is from the My Creative Time's ~ So Grateful For You stamp set

The super fun faces are from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Everday Character Face Assortment & Snow Cuties Face Assortment.  I used a black ~ Zig Writer pen for some dots around the center scallops; a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen for the eyes; and some chalks for the cheeks.

I hope she likes it!  But remember...shhhh...don't say anything to Emma :)

Have a great weekend my friends!

The sentiment is from the Technique Tuesday ~ Thanks For Everything stamp set.  I colored it in using some simple colored pencils.  And underneath is a simple gingham ribbon from my stash.

Here is a side view of the card.  For dimension I used some pop dots.  And I also bent up all the flower petals.

That's it for today.  Come back later this week, I have another cute Thank You card...a different take on this same style.  See you soon!

For the black, scalloped rectangle in the background, I used the Elegant Edges ~ Cricut cartridge.  Notice that in each little scallop I stamped "Be Mine" using My Creative Time's ~ You Had Me At Chocolate stamp set.  Isn't that just too cute?!?!  And to finish it off, the ribbon is Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations.

Happy Birthday

Hello everyone!  I'm back with a "Happy Birthday" card today.  You can never have too many of those on hand.  This one happens to be for my mother-in-law, so it's a little more serious rather than fun or cutesy.

All of the cardstock is from Recollections, except for the candle which is from the SEI ~ Winnie's Walls paper collection.  The decorative edge at the top of the card is cut with an EK Success ~ Dotted Scallop punch.  The beautiful frame is cut from the Elegant Edges ~ Cricut cartridge.  The candle is cut from the Wrap It Up ~ Cricut cartridge.  All of the flowers are cut from the Mother's Day Bouquet ~ Cricut cartridge.  For that little something extra, I added Star Dust ~ Stickles to candle's flame.  I did some penwork along the outside of the frame with a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen.  And I added some beautiful Recollections ~ Pearls to the flower centers.  Here's a closer view:

That's it for now.  See you back here soon for another PKS Challenge.  Have a great week!

In good times and in bad times....

Hello again everyone.  For most of us, our crafting time is filled with joy and happiness and lots of laughter.  And every now and then, there comes a time when we are faced with more difficult and challenging times.  But honestly, that's what I think is so great about this hobby of ours.  We can lose ourselves in a world of creativity and come out on the other side feeling so much better.  And we can give our work to others, whether near or far, to show them our love, to show them our support, to let them know how much we care.

I recently heard that a fellow Cricut Circle member's family lost their home and all of their belongings in a horrible house fire.  Thank God everyone was safe, but they lost everything.  So to show support, it was asked that if possible we create and send cards of support.  Here is the card I sent:

The cardstock is from Recollections.  The scalloped oval and frame are cut from the Lacy Labels ~ Cricut cartridge.  I added Stardust ~ Stickles to the butterflies; as well as Recollections ~ pearls for their bodies.  TIP - I always bend up the wings of butterflies to give them more dimension - it makes them look like they're about to take flight any minute.  The wonderful sentiment is from the Technique Tuesday ~ Thinking of You stamp set.  And the ribbon is Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations.

If you haven't done so in awhile...send a card to someone you love, make some cards to give to a local charity, or one of my personal favorites - send a card to a soldier.  Lose yourself in your creatvity and spread some love...you'll be glad you did.  :)

See you soon...

Throwback Thursday Challenge!

Hello everyone!  It's time for my favorite challenge ~ the Throwback Thrusday Challenge with Emma over at My Creative Time!  Here are the details for the challenge:  Use any older Cricut cartridge of your choice; make it a Christmas theme; and incorporate any kind of material on your project.

It was a little weird to make a Christmas card in July when it's about 112 degrees here in Phoenix LOL, but here is my entry:

The solid color cardstock is from Recollections.  The green & red patterned papers are from Doodlebug Designs ~ Petite Prints.  The large green scallop circle is cut using My Creative Time's ~ scallop die.  The smaller red scallop circle is cut with a Mary Uchida punch.  The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from Technique Tuesday's ~ Season's Greetings stamp set.  *TIP - if you have this stamp set, then you know that the sentiment is all on one line.  In order to make it fit into my circle the way I wanted it to - I taped off one word and stamped the other, then I taped off the first word and stamped the second.  (hope that makes sense)  Keep this in mind the next time you look at your stamp stash...it will give you lots more options.  :)

My super cute Hello Kitty is cut from the Hello Kitty Greetings ~ Cricut cartridge.  Her pretty green bow is from Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations.  And if you look closely - you can see that I added real cotton pieces to the balls on her shoes and the ball & rim of her hat.  Too cute!!!

And finally, for the snowy hills behind her - I used the Divine Swirls ~ Cuttlebug folder to emboss it and give it some fun texture.

Now, if you haven't tried it yet...go over to Emma's website My Creative Time and join the Throwback Thursday Challenge.  It's so much fun and you will get so many creative ideas....she is the best!!

Not sure what I'm working on next, but I hope to see you back here soon.  Until then, have a great weekend!

4.  I love almost ALL sports (except for maybe boxing and hockey...don't care for all the fighting)

Now, it's time to pass these awards onto some very deserving bloggers:

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge

Hello everyone!  It's time for the PKS ~ Sketch Challenge #57 with a TwistCreate a card with the sketch and color combo provided.  Peachy Keen Stamps are not required, but we always love to see what you create with them if you have them already!

I'm still suffering from a little bit of "Cropper's Block".....so I'm not too happy with this, but here is my entry anyway:

The solid color cardstock is from Recollections.  The background patterned paper is from the SEI ~ Such A Girl paper collection.  The green scallop circles are punched with a Marvy Uchida punch.  The "love" stamp in the middle is from the My Creative Time's ~ Inspiring Words stamp set.  The "I' & the "U" are from the Technique Tuesday ~ Wayfarer alphabet stamp set.  The super cute little bride & groom are cut with the brand new dies from My Creative Time ~ scallop and stitched circle.  Both of their faces are from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Snow Cuties Face Assortment.  I cut the groom's little bowtie by hand.  The gems on the groom's bowtie and the bride's headband are from Doodlebug Design.  The ribbon is Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations.  And the little tiny hearts are from an old little hand punch in my stash....I can't remember the maker.

Definitiely not my best work....but it's still a little cute :)  See you later this week for my favorite challenge of all.  Until then, have a great week!
