Cricut 360 Challenge Blog

Hello everyone!  I found another great challenge blog.  It is called Cricut 360.  It looks like they have a challenge every week that's posted on Fridays.  The challenge for this week is: Cricut 360 ~ Challenge #5: Transportation - Many people travel in the month of August, with that in mind make a card or layout.  Must include any Cricut or Imagine cartridge.

Here is my entry:

So I decided to use the Hello Kitty Greetings ~ Cricut cartridge for this super cute Hello Kitty flying the airplane.  Unfortunately, when I went back to the blog to post my entry - I noticed that a bunch of other people also picked this very same image :(  oh well....I still think she's super cute!  (Aww man.....just went to go post this again and someone else made almost the exact same design...double bummer.  I guess great minds think alike LOL)

The cardstock is from Recollections.  The clouds are cut from the Create A Critter ~ Cricut cartridge and I used the Divine Swirls ~ Cuttlebug folder to emboss them.  I did a little stitching around different plane parts with a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen

One little note of interest...In order to get my plane flying in the direction I wanted...I used my Gypsy to reverse the image.  Make sure when you do this that you remember to flip all the layers too.

The ribbon for her bow is from Celebrate It ~ Basic Narrows.  I also added some Fruit Punch ~ Stickles to her scarf and shirt, as well as a bit on the propeller.

For the sentiment on the banner flying behind the plane, I just used my computer to print out something fun.  And the banner is cut from the Graphically Speaking ~ Cricut cartridge.

That's it - not too complicated, but lots of fun!  See you back here really soon for some more fun challenges.  Until then...have a great day!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

Hello everyone!  I found a new site for challenges.  It's called the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  It looks like they post a new challenge every Monday.  For this week it is Challenge Me Monday #70: Melon TimeMelon always seems to be such a hit at summer picnics and gatherings.  It's always such a delight to stop at roadside vendors to get the freshest of summer fruits and vegetables.  Create a project with a melon (or another sort of fruit).  Each project must include a Cricut cut somewhere on your finished project.

Today, I needed a quick Thank You card, so here is my entry:

The solid colored cardstock is from Recollections.  The patterned paper is from Doodlebug Designs ~ Petite Prints.  The strawberries are cut from the Preserves ~ Cricut cartridge.  All of the scallop circles are cut with My Creative Time's ~ scallop die.  The four circles behind the strawberries are cut with My Creative Time's ~ stiched circle die.  The scallop circle with the sentiment stamped on it is cut with a Marvy Uchida punch.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's ~ Fruit and Veggie Puns stamp set.  And the ribbon is Celebrate It ~ Sheer Creations.

That's it...quick and simple.  Have a great weekend.  See you back real soon :)

You ROCK !!

Hello everyone!  Here's a fun little card I made for my sister.

The background polka dot paper is from the Echo Park Paper Co ~ Be Mine Collection.  The patterned paper for the guitar and the background offset rectangle are from Doodlebug Designs ~ Petite Prints.  The super cute rocker girl is cut from the Rock Princess ~ Cricut cartridge.  The large scalloped circle is cut with an EK Success ~ Paper Shapers punch.  The small scalloped circle is cut with a Mary Uchida punch.  For some extra sparkle, I added some gems to the large scalloped circle with my I-Rock tool and some Fruit Punch ~ Stickles to rocker girl's headband and boots.  Isn't she soooo cute???  Oh...and the pink satin ribbon is from Paper Trey Ink and the black ribbon is from Offray.

See you next time...

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge

Hello everyone!  It's time for another Let's Face It Friday Challenge.  This week's theme ~ "So Punny"  Here are the guidelines:  Puns are fun, and even more perfect when paired with Peachy Keen Faces!  This week, create a project using your PKS faces along with any pun you'd like.

Here is my entry:

The kraft cardstock is from Joann's.  The solid colored cardstock is from Recollections.  The patterned paper is from the SEI ~ Granny's Kitchen collection.  The bumble bee and the beehive are cut from the Create A Critter ~ Cricut cartridge.  The adorable face is from PKS ~ Critter Faces stamp set.  The small scalloped circles are cut with a Marvy Uchida punch.  And the larger scalloped circle is cut with an EK Success Paper Shapers punch.  I also did a little penwork with a white ~Sakura Gelly Roll pen and a black ~ Zig Writer pen.  And last but not least....I used a little Star Dust ~ Stickles on the bee's wings and the heart on top of the beehive.

For the "punny" sentiment, I used My Pink Stamper's ~ Buggy Punnies stamp set.  **One little tip - if you have this stamp set, then you know the sentiment is actually a two line sentiment.  In order to make it fit into my scalloped circle - I taped off the stamp and only stamped one word at a time.  It took some extra time, but it allowed me to use it in a way that fit my project better.  Keep that in mind the next time you take a look at your stamps.  :)

That's it for now.  See you later this week.

Ok...I'm back...

Sorry that I've been MIA for awhile......I've had a horrible case of "cropper's block"!  Ugh!  Went into my room a million times and came out with nothing.  : (   So here is a simple birthday card for today.  It's nothing special, but it got the productivity started again.  LOL

The kraft cardstock is from Joann's.  The solid colored cardstock is from Recollections.  The patterned cardstock is from Die Cuts With a View ~ Nana's Nursery: Baby Girl paper stack.  The cupcake is cut from the Create a Critter ~ Cricut cartridge.  The heart on top is cut from the Sweet Treats ~ Cricut cartridge.  The stamped sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.  The "Happy Birthday" & the "To" are from the Happy Birthday stamp set.  And the "You" is from the Everday Words stamp set.

That's it for today.  I'll be back soon with some much improved creativity and another PKS Challenge.  See you then...

Cricut Circle Blog Challenge!!!

Hello everyone!  As most of you know, it's almost time for CHA in Chicago.  For those of you who are going...I hope you have a GREAT time.  And for those of you going to the Cricut Circle Meet-Up in Ohio....I hope you have a BLAST!!!!

In celebration of the "Roadtrip to CHA" - the Cricut Circle Blog is doing a Pennant Contest.  The rules for this contest:  Make a pennant using the Birthday Bash ~ Cricut cartridge - any pennant from pages 58-70, using the "fit to page" feature button for a 12x12 inch piece of paper.  The pennant should be your representation of the state, providence or country of your choosing.

I am actually a born and raised Arizona native - kinda rare here in Phoenix as so many people move here from other places.  So I made this pennant for my home state of Arizona.  The pennant measure 11 inches.

Every single element of this pennant was printed with the Cricut Imagine. The ribbon is from SEI.  The pennant was cut using the Birthday Bash ~ Cricut cartridge (pg 65).  The pennant shadow is printed from the Kate's Kitchen ~ Imagine cartridge.  The top layer of the pennant is printed from the Better Together ~ Imagine cartridge.

The "Arizona" is cut from the 50 States ~ Cricut cartridge.  The "Arizona" shadow is printed from the Kate's Kitchen ~ Imagine cartridge.  The top layer of "Arizona" is printed from the Heirloom ~ Imagine cartridge.  The sun is cut from the Life's A Beach ~ Cricut cartridge.  Note that I used the Gypsy and the "Hide Contour" feature to remove the sun's face.  The sun is printed from the Kate's Kitchen ~ Imagine cartridge.

The whole desert landscape is cut from the Campin' Critters ~ Cricut cartridge.  The sedona red mountain is printed from the Imagine More ~ Imagine cartridge.  The green cactus is printed from the Ancestry ~ Imagine cartridge.

The orangish/yellowish mountain is printed from the Imagine More ~ Imagine cartridge.  The desert dirt color is printed from the Buccaneer ~ Imagine cartridge

The horse is cut from the Old West ~ Cricut cartridge.  Both colors for the horse are printed from the Heirloom ~ Imagine cartridge.  The Cuttlebug is cut from the Cricut Everyday ~ Cricut cartridge.  Both colors for the Cuttlebug are printed from the Mr. Frosty ~ Imagine cartridge.  The cowboy hat is cut from the Old West ~ Cricut cartridge.  And both colors for the hat are printed from the Ancestry ~ Imagine cartridge.

Well that's my State of Arizona Pennant.  I used a total of 6 Cricut cartridges and 7 Imagine cartridges.   I love how it turned out :)  I hear the Cricut folks are going to take all the pennants and hang them around the room at the Ohio - Cricut Circle Meet-Up.  Can't wait to see pictures of what everyone comes up with.  How fun!!!

See you next time...

Peachy Keen Stamps ~ "Let's Face It Friday" Challenge

Hello everyone!  It's time for the PKS ~ Let's Face It Friday: Plentiful Patterns Challenge.  The rules for this challenge:  Patterns can pack a huge punch, even when used in subtle ways.  This week, we want you to pull out your favorite patterned products (whether it's paper, creating your own pattern, or repeating elements) and pair them with your PK faces for a project of your choice!  Project must be new and must include Peachy Keen Faces.

Here's the card I made for some friends of mine who have a baby due this week:

The solid color cardstock is from Recollections.  All of the patterned papers are from the Die Cuts With a View ~ Nana's Nursery: Baby Girl paper stack.  All of the flowers are cut from the Mother's Day Bouquet ~ Cricut cartridge.  The flower centers are cut with a Marvy Uchida ~ scalloped circle punch.

The face for the orange flower is from Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Snow Cuties Face Assortment

The face for the pink flower is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Everyday Character Face Assortment.

And the face for the green flower is from the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Snow Cutie Face Assortment.

All three flowers have cute pink cheeks done with chalk.  And you can see that I did some pen work with both a black ~ Zig Writer pen and a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

I think this card sooo cute....it's one of the ones you hate to give away LOL.  See you next time...

Throwback Thursday Challenge!

It's time again for another Throwback Thursday Challenge with Emma over at My Creative Time.  The rules for this challenge:  Make a project of your choice using either the Wild Card cartridge or the "Just Because" Cards cartridge and include embossing somewhere on your project - either dry or heat embossing - your choice!

Here is my card:

The cardstock is from Recollections.  The beautiful wedding couple is cut from the Wild Card ~ Cricut cartridge.  Notice that I used some Star Dust ~ Stickles to fill in her dress and veil.  Doesn't she look beautiful???  I used the Heart Blocks ~ Cuttlebug folder to emboss the background.  The red scalloped circle is cut with an EK Success ~ Paper Shapers punch.  The small white scalloped circle is cut with a Marvy Uchida punch.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time's ~ You Had Me At Chocolate stamp set.
