Challenge Time....

Hey everybody!  It's time to enter another challenge.....this time I am going to enter the PKS-Let's Face It Friday ~ Mother's Day Challenge.  For this challenge, you have to create a project with a Mother's Day theme using PKS-faces.  Here's the card I made...

All the patterned paper used in this card is from the Basic Grey ~ Origins collection.  The PKS faces are from the Snow Cutie Face Asst., the Simple Sallies Face Asst. and the Everyday Character Face Asst.  The flowers are cut from the Groovy Times ~ Cricut cartridge. The MOM is cut from the always classic Plantin Schoolbook ~ Cricut cartridge.  I added a little Cinnamon Stickles to make the MOM sparkle.  A little white stiching with my Sakura Gelly Roll pen.....and there you have it....a super cute Mother's Day card (don't PKS make everything cuter? LOL).  One extra little tip....I curled the flower petals upward to give them a little personality.  Hope you like it.  :)

Until next time....

Congrats Grad !

Hi everyone!  Here's a quick graduation card I made for a friend of mine who is graduating with her AA degree.  She has been waiting to buy her first baby bug until she is done with school ~ because we all know that once the Cricut is in the house - nothing else will ever get done.  LOL

The background paper I made using my favorite new machine....the Cricut Imagine!!!  The patterns are from the Hopscotch ~ Imagine cartridge.  The apple is from the Makin' the Grade ~ Cricut cartridge.  The cute little bookworm is from my all time favorite - the Create A Critter ~ Cricut cartridge.  And of course the super cute face is from the Critter Faces stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps.  The ribbon is also from the Makin' the Grade cartridge.  I added some yellow/gold Stickles for some extra sparkle.  The sentiment I printed out from my computer.  And the 2011 date stamp is from Technique Tuesday.

I'm still getting used to my new Imagine, but I think it turned out pretty cute.  In fact, I think I might actually enter this into the Peachy Keen Stamps Sketch Challenge.  Wish me luck :)

See you next time...

Happy Egg Hunting.....

Hiya peeps!  Ok...this is my very first project with my new Cricut Imagine machine.  For some inspiration, I decided to make a card for the Easter Challenge over at Creative Critterz Imaginations.

The four Easter eggs and the grass are cut from the Easter 2010 ~ Cricut cartridge.  Now, I 'm not sure if I'm using the correct term, but I "flood-filled" the eggs and grass with beautiful patterns from the Lori's Garden ~ Imagine cartridge and the Blast Off ~ Imagine cartridge.  The cute chickie and cracked egg are cut from the 3 Birds ~ Cricut cartridge and once again "flood-filled" with color.  The cute chickie face was stamped with the Critter Faces set from Peachy Keen Stamps.  The clouds are cut from the Create A Critter ~ Cricut cartridge.  And the sentiment is from the Color Me Happy stamp set from Emma at My Creative Time.  For a little something extra, I added some ric rac to the bottom of the grass.  It's a fairly simple card, but it took me forever since I'm getting to know my new Imagine...LOL.  Enjoy and Happy Easter :)

Cricut Circle Blog ~ Weekly Challenge

Weekly Challenge #29 :  Handmade Flower Challenge

Hello everyone!  This week on the Cricut Circle Blog - the Challenge is to "handcraft a flower using your Cricut and/or Cuttlebug machine and use it on your project."  This was perfect timing for me as I needed to make this wedding card for a friend of mine.

The brown cardstock is from Paper Trey Ink.  The shimmery gold cardstock (which is a little hard to see in my picture) is from DCWV - Le Creme paperstack.  The border punch is EK Success ~ Dotted Scallop

The wedding cake I made by cutting two rectangles and stacking them one on top of the other.  I rounded the top two corners of each layer with my corner rounder for the softer look. And then I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder to give them some texture.

There are 3 kinds of flowers on this cake.  The 3 large white flowers on the bottom layer are from the Mother's Day Boquet ~ Cricut cartridge, with a pearl accented mini flower sticker (from Michaels) added in the middle.  The other 2 large flowers in the bottom layer are from the Martha Stewart  All Occasions Cake Art ~ Cricut cartridge (I cut the flourishes off the sides to only leave the flower), I also used some Stickles to give them some bling and added the pearl accented mini flower to these as well.  On the top layer of the cake I cut the same large white flowers (but in a smaller size) and then added 3 pearl accented mini flower stickers.

For the cake topper, I cut the most beautiful wedding couple from the  Sweethearts ~ Cricut cartridge.   And off to the left you can see the sweet sentiment of "Together Forever" which is from the My Pink Stamper ~ Love-alicious stamp set.

It's a fairly quick and simple card.  Hope you like it :)

Until next time...

Back from CKC-Mesa.....

and boy am I pooped !  LOL  Well, another great CKC convention is over :(  I did most of this one on my own as my sister wasn't able to come home this time and my BFF had a wedding she was in.  We had a great time at the Cricut Circle Meet-Up during the crop on Friday night.  Here is a picture of the amazing centerpieces that the Cricut Design Team made:

Isn't it AWESOME?!?!?!  The best part.....I won one that I got to take home...YIPPEE!!!!

Another one of my favorites was this totally cute box that JannaB (aka QueenB) made to hold her calling cards in:

Next up....here are some pictures of the little Easter treat baskets I made for the gals at the Meet-Up:

The fence box and the dark green grass are from the Wrap It Up ~ Cricut cartridge.  The lite green grass is from the Martha Stewart - All Occasions Cake Art ~ Cricut cartridge.  The handle for the basket I made on my own by just cutting a strip of cardstock and adding some Easter ribbon to it.  The cute little bunny and chick are from the Create A Critter ~ Cricut cartridge.  The stamped faces are of course Peachy Keen Stamps - Critter Faces set.  And if you look closely, you can see that I chalked some cheeks on both the bunny and the chick; and also did a little stitching around the edges to make them stand out more.  The best part of course....the chocolate candy inside...a must for any scrapbooking event.  :)

Now, for the best part of the night.....and I think you need to sit down for this one LOL.  For those of you who are Cricut addicts like myself...you have most definitely heard of "the Golden Cricut" right?!?  Well, one of our Arizona Circlettes ~ Janet ~ actually has one.....and she brought it to the Meet-Up....don't believe me???  Here's proof.....it does exist!

Look at that beauty....isn't she sparkly????

Well, that's it for the Cricut Circle Meet-Up...we had a great time...can't wait to do it again.

As far as the convention itself, well let's just say I was introduced to the world of Copic markers.  Yes....I know...oh dear!!!  I took 3 classes on Copic markers and then promptly bought a whole slew of them.  Stay tuned...I hope to post some projects as soon as I get the hang of it.

Well, that's it for now.  My schedule has finally lightened up a bit, so I hope to get back to crafting and sharing my creations again.

Until then....

Happy Birthday to ME !!!

Yep, that's right....today is my birthday - 41st to be exact.  Here's a quick picture of the flowers and cupcakes my mother brought over for me last night.

Mmmmmmm....delicious!  Aren't those cupcake wrappers so cute?  They look like flowers.  And just for a good laugh....here is a picture from my BIG 40 party last year...it was a 70s theme....this is my BFF on the left, me in the middle and my sister on the right.  Too much fun!!!

This week is the CKC-Mesa Convention, so hopefully once this weekend is over - I will be back to posting.  Until then....
