My Creative Time ~ "Scrapping the Little Things"

Hello everyone!  It's time for another "Scrapping the Little Things" with My Creative Time.  For those of you who may be new to this, it's when we make Project Life, Smash Book or any other type of scrapbook layout.

Today, I made an 8x8 layout.  I made it for my husband's niece for their first family photo since their new baby. I matched it to the colors in their house.  And once I get a neat frame, I think it will match perfectly!!  :)

The solid brown cardstock for the bottom layer is from Recollections.  The polka dot piece for the next layer up is from the Simple Stories ~ Urban Traveler collection.  The solid light tan cardstock for the next layer up is from Recollections.  And then all of the other patterned papers are from the Creative Imaginations ~ Orchard Harvest collection.

The "family" is cut with the MCT ~ Lowercase Fun Dies.  These are the perfect size for titles on your layouts...LOVE THEM!!!  The pretty hearts are cut with the smallest heart die in the MCT ~ Stitched Layering Heart Dies.  And I adhered them with pop dots for a bit of dimension.

This beautiful bow is made with the smallest size of Liz's Paper Loft Boutique ~ Hemp Twine.  I love the smaller size because it makes the perfect bows!!  In the center is a beautiful Doodlebug Design ~ Jewel.

The pretty frame is cut with the frame die in the MCT ~ Just Simply Live stamp/die set.  The fun little family and the sentiment are from the MCT ~ We Are Family stamp set.   The ink is Coffee ~ Ranger Archival Ink. And the ink for the little heart is Monarch Orange ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  The pretty flower in the bottom right corner is cut with the MCT ~ Flower Petal Dies.  I only used two of the three flowers. And then in the center, I added another Doodlebug Design ~ Jewel.  **Just a little tip ~ when I adhered the frame, I left the upper left corner without adhesive so that they will be able to easily slip their family photo underneath.

Well my creative friends, that's it for me today.  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  I'm just loving how this layout turned out.  It's kind of inspiring me to get back to some of my scrapbook layouts....hmmmmmm.  ;)  Have a great day!  I will see you all again soon.

Peachy Keen Stamps & SVG Cutting Files ~ BLOG HOP

Hello everyone!  Are you ready for some fun today?  It's Day 2 of the super fun Blog Hop for Peachy Keen Stamps & SVG Cutting Files!  If you missed Day 1, you can go back to the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog so you don't miss a thing.  Now you should have arrived here from Jamie's blog, if not then make sure you start back at SVG Cutting Files so that you can start at the beginning.

SVG Cutting Files has some super cute files that match just perfectly with Peachy Keen Stamps!  I still consider myself pretty new with my Cameo, but here is my fun little 3D piggy:

Isn't she cute?  Hee!  The SVG Cutting File for this little cutie is called the Pig Candy Tube Holder.  The pink patterned paper is from the Snap ~ Color Vibe collection.  The solid pink paper is from Recollections.  I cut the base out twice - once with chip board for some extra reinforcement and a second time with the patterned paper.

This super cute face is from the PKS ~ The Moodies - 4" parts.  I colored in the eyes with a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll pen and also added some fun eye shadow with a blue ~ Zig Writer pen.  I adhered the whole head, along with the nose and some cheeks with pop dots for dimension.  The cheeks aren't actually a part of the cutting file...shhhh...I added them to cover up a boo boo from dropping the blue pen right on my project!!! eek!!

I added a cute bow with ribbon from my stash.  And for the super cute little piggy tail, I used a pink pipe cleaner.  Inside the candy tube are some giant pink gumballs...which somehow vanished after the photo was taken...lol.

Well my creative friends, that's it for me today.  Your next stop in the hop is Abby, but in case you get lost along the way - here is the entire Blog Hop lineup:

Cassandra (that's me!)

Now what Blog Hop would be complete without some prizes???  There will be two - $35 Gift Certificates given away for each day...one from Peachy Keen Stamps & one from SVG Cutting Files.  We have no idea which blog the winner will come from - so make sure you leave a comment on each stop in the hop.  HAPPY HOPPING everyone!  I will see you all again soon.

My Creative Time ~ "3D Wednesday"

Hello everyone!  It's time for another "3D Wednesday" with My Creative Time.  For those of you who may be new to this, it's when we make anything but a card or layout.

Today, I have another fun tag for you.  To be honest, I never really liked making tags before.  That is until Emma made her AWESOME Tag Dies!!!!  Wahooo!!!  Now I think I might be getting obsessed with them.  LOL

Isn't it so fun?  I just love it!  All of the fun patterned papers for this are from the Creative Imaginations ~ Birthday Bliss collection.   To cut the tag, I used the MCT ~ Tag Dies.  For the tag base, I strategically placed the Tag Die on the paper so that it would cut with the presents on it.  Cool huh?

For the label, I used the MCT ~ Curly Label Die.  The sentiment is from the MCT ~ Wow! So Many Candles stamp set.  The ink is Coffee ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  I adhered it with pop dots to give it dimension.   To cut the balloons, I used one of the ornament dies in the MCT ~ Warm Holiday Fun stamp/die set.  I adhered them with different sizes of pop dots to vary the dimension.

For the strings, I did a fun technique that I learned from one of my DTmates - but I totally can't remember which one...lol.  The curly strings are made with The Twinery ~ PeaPod twine.  I soaked them in a solution that is a combination of liquid glue and water.  Then I took the twine and wrapped it around a long craft stick that I have.  Let it dry and then slip it off.  Cool huh?  To vary the size of the curls...use a smaller or bigger stick.  :)

At the top of the tag, the ribbon is from my stash and the bow is made with Liz's Paper Loft Boutique ~ Hemp Twine.  Well, that's it for me today.  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  I will see you all again tomorrow.  Have a great day!

My Creative Time ~ "Birthday Bash - BLOG HOP"

Hello everyone!  Surprise!  Surprise!  Today is Emma's birthday, so we are having a "Birthday Bash - Blog Hop"!  You should have arrived here from the super talented Amy's blog.  If not, then make sure you head back to My Creative Time, so that you can start at the beginning...you don't want to miss a thing!

Here is the birthday card that I made for Emma:

Last month when I went to the Vendor Fair at the CK Convention in Mesa, I found these super fun new embellishments.  Straws!  They came in several different colors and patterns...so of course you know I had to get the rainbow!!!  ;)  I purchased mine from a company called Cre8tive Artz.  They are actually the size of regular drinking straws, but made of a heavier material.  To give you an idea of size, the straws on my card are actually cut almost in half from the original size.  Aren't they so much fun???

For the flames, I had some candle stickers from Jolee's Boutique and I actually cut the flames off to use them here.  The fun gingham bow is made with Celebrate It ~ 360 ribbon.  At the bottom, you can see that I also added some red ric rac from my stash.

The "Happy Birthday" & "Make a wish..." sentiments are from the MCT ~ Polka Dot Surprise stamp set. The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  And for an extra touch, I added yellow and red Recollections ~ Pearls. The patterned paper in the background is from the Simple Stories ~ Snap, Just the Basics collection.  And the yellow and black cardstock are from Recollections.

I just love how this turned out!  I hope Emma likes it too!

My Creative Time ~ "Thrifty Thursday"

Hello everyone!  It's time for another "Thrifty Thursday" with My Creative Time.  For those of you who may be new to this, it's when we create a project using our scraps.

The white card base and the kraft frame are made with Recollections cardstock.  All of the other patterned papers are from the Simple Stories ~ Summer Fresh collection.  The pretty little bow is made with Liz's Paper Loft Boutique ~ Seam Binding Ribbon.

The frame and the arrow are cut with dies in the MCT ~ Stitched Capture Frame with Arrow Dies.  The pretty little flower is cut with the MCT ~ Stitched Daisy Die.  The leaves are cut with the MCT ~ Stitched Leaves Dies.  And the label is cut with one of the label dies in the MCT ~ Chunky Jar Accessories stamp/die set.  The "Happy Mother's day" sentiment is from the MCT ~ Mom You Rock stamp set.  The ink is black ~ Ranger Archival Ink.  I put the whole thing on pop dots for dimension.

Ok, since this is a post about using our scraps, I thought I would share with you how I store my scraps.  For patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pads, I use an 8x8 zip bag that I get from ClearBags.com.  I keep the full pad in there, as well as all the left over scraps.  That way I can easily find the same kind of paper when I need it.  Right now I hang them all on a Clip It Up, but I think I may change that soon as they are getting pretty heavy and full.

Well my creative friends, that's it for me today.  Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  I will see you all again tomorrow for a super fun surprise!!!
